I'm Marty. This blog is what happens when ADHD hyperfocus meets a stubborn technical itch: I fall into a rabbit hole — a deadlock, an undocumented protocol, a system that misbehaves in a way nobody has written up — and I don't come back out until it makes sense. The posts here are the field notes from those dives, written up properly so the next person doesn't have to dig as long.

I use AI a lot, and it is why any of this gets finished rather than stopping at eighty percent, which is where hyperfocus usually leaves a project: the first drafts, the scaffolding, the long boring middle. The last five percent it does not get. That is the part where a low-level detail has to be exactly right — an address, a formula, a byte offset, a number someone can check against real hardware — and I do that by hand, every time, because it decides whether an article is true. Every post carries a small badge saying as much.

From time to time I also go back over the tools and the older articles by hand, looking for the artefacts that machine writing leaves behind: a paragraph that says the same thing twice, a confident sentence with no measurement under it, a name that drifted between two files. Nothing here is finished the day it ships.
